Inspiring the Next Generation of Designers and Architects
Supporting the next generation of designers and built environment professionals remains a core part of our ethos. Through a series of recent events spanning universities, industry networks and community programmes, we're privileged to have connected with students, graduates, and emerging practitioners around the world at pivotal moments in their journeys.
These experiences reflect our commitment to sharing knowledge, broadening access to the profession, and fostering confidence in future talent. We are always inspired by the ambition and critical thinking that shape the future of our industry, everywhere in the world. Below, learn more about some of the events we’ve been a part of in the past month or two.
Mexico City: Open House CDMX
Over 400 people came through the doors of our Mexico City studio as part of Open House CDMX. Taking part for another year was once again a rewarding opportunity to welcome visitors from a broad range of backgrounds, each bringing their own curiosity and perspective. The studio became a space for conversation, where we shared our work and reflected on the role architecture plays in shaping daily life.
London: Open City Accelerate Programme
Across two days, our London studio became a creative workspace for students from the Open City Accelerate programme as they developed their final projects. Centred on the theme of “Resilience,” the brief challenged them to rethink the bus stop not just as infrastructure, but as a place of community and sustainability. We worked closely with the students to refine and communicate their concepts through drawings and models, culminating in presentations to a panel.
Toronto: University Engagement Event
With over 100 students and 40 practitioners in attendance, our recent University of Toronto engagement session quickly became a lively exchange of ideas. We spoke with students and fellow practitioners about our recent work, walking them through some models and sharing experiences for ways into the profession.
Manchester: MSA Future Me Week
It was a pleasure to spend time with students from the Manchester School of Architecture (MSA) during their ‘Future Me Week’. The visit was an informal tour and presentation, giving us the chance to share what life in practice really looks like. After a tour of our Manchester studio, we talked through our day-to-day work and the different directions a career in architecture can take with our varied team giving their perspectives.
London: NLA NextGen Networking
We were proud to contribute to the NLA NextGen networking programme by hosting an evening dedicated to meaningful industry connection. The event brought together a mix of emerging professionals from across London’s built environment sector, creating a valuable platform for dialogue and exchange. The evening was introduced by Project Director and NLA Transport & Infrastructure Expert Panel member Raffaella Rospo, whose overview of WW+P set a clear and engaging context for the night.
